Jenna made a Facebook post saying there were no more treatments for Heidi and they were bringing her home to die. I knew that time was short and realized I may never get to create portraits of them altogether - and that didn't feel right. Though it was crazy (since we didn't know each other besides a photo session)... I messaged them offering to fly to Boston to photograph them - all they needed to do was pick a date and I'd make it happen. I simply knew that this was a unique bond that needed to be documented. Well... they liked the idea and the rest is history.
